Pool pack contents

1 gallon of antifreeze (3.78 L) Poured into the lines to protect them from freezing during winter.
3 #10 plugs One for the skimmer and two for the water returns.
#11 plugs One per jet, only if your pool has them. If you have no jets, choose "0".
1 Gizzmo Screwed into the skimmer, it absorbs ice expansion to prevent the housing from cracking.
1 winterizing kit A winter treatment (454 g), which keeps the water clean and odorless until spring, and a stain and scale preventer (1 L), which protects against metal stains and mineral deposits. Explanatory leaflet included.

Spa: dose according to your tub's volume. The winterizing kit is dosed for a swimming pool (up to 80,000 L). A spa only requires a small portion: follow the proportions in the leaflet based on your spa's volume and keep the rest for next season.

Steps for closing

1. Treat the waterClean the pool/spa, balance the water, and add the winterizing kit products by following the leaflet.
2. Lower the water levelJust below the water returns for a pool, just below the jets for a spa. No lower, and never empty the basin.
3. Cut powerTurn off the pool or spa circuit breaker before touching any equipment.
4. Purge the linesBlow the water out of the lines, then drain the pump, filter, and heater via their drain plugs.
5. Add antifreezePour the antifreeze into the purged lines to protect any remaining water.
6. Install plugs#10 and #11 plugs in returns, jets, and drains, then the Gizzmo in a pool skimmer.

Not included: the device for blowing or vacuuming water from the lines, and the winter cover. For a spa, also follow your manufacturer’s instructions.

Fiberglass basin: never empty it. An empty shell can deform under groundwater pressure. Lower the water just below the water returns (or under the jets for a spa) and monitor your sump pit all winter long.

Frequently Asked Questions

My pool has no jets. What should I choose?Select "Pool" and then "0". The pack will include the antifreeze, the three #10 plugs, the Gizzmo, and the winterizing kit.
My number of jets is not on the list.Choose the size just above your number of jets, or call us: we can adjust the number of plugs for you. Plugs are also sold individually for $5.
Why is there no Gizzmo for a spa?A spa skimmer is closed with a #10 plug. The Gizzmo is used to protect a pool skimmer housing from ice.
Is one gallon of antifreeze enough?For most installations, yes. If your network is long or complex, add a gallon to your order or call us to confirm.
